Joy to the World
This is a 'lift' of "Joy to the World" from Glee: The Music, the Christmas Album Volume 3. It is scored for trumpet, tenor sax, trombone, SATB chorus with solo voice, piano, bass, and drums. It is challenging, and deeply moving!

5-4-4-3 This was my second hymn arrangement for big band, which I did for my arranging lessons at the University of Minnesota. When I showed Bruce Thornton (my teacher) my sax treatment at m. 122, he said, "That doesn't sound like a sax line, it sounds like a piano line." In that moment, I had an epiphany.
5-4-4-4 and voice. This is a pop/rock groove, with solo changes taken from Tad Dameron's "Lady Bird."
5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 bones, 4 rhythm. I wrote this as a vehicle for an epic drum "battle" between myself and the not-yet-world-renowned Steve Goold. Steve has gone on to great things!
